The empire of marmots and eagles

The legendary empire of Fanes is origin of the Ladin myth around the warrior Dolasilla, the eagles, the marmots, invisible arrows and false kings. Even today Fanes and Sennes-Prags is a mysterious place and the Ladin Epos seems to be still alive.

The Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Parks is one of the most impressing Nature Parks in South Tyrol. The Park extends over an area of around 25,680 hectares belonging to the villages of Abtei, Prags, Toblach, Wengen, Enneberg and Olang.

The park is situated between the mountain slopes facing Pustertal in the north, the forests facing Gadertal in the west and the borders of the province in the south. The western boundary separates the park from Sextner Dolomites and goes through the valley Höhlensteintal.

Worth seeing is the Pragser Wildsee Lake, the enchant alpine pasture of Fanes and the Lake Lech Vert.

The Nature Park House is situated in St. Vigil in Enneberg. There you get more information about flora and fauna.
