Lichtenberg Ruin – the most spectacular ruin of Vinschgau Valley

Lichtenberg in Vinschgau Valley enchants. 14 glaciers build the frame of one of the most precious castles in whole South Tyrol.

The castle was built in the 13th century and till 1513 the Earl of Tyrol have possess the castle. Since then and toll today the Earls of Khuen-Belasi own the ruin. Lichtenberg now can be visited. You can find the castle ruin near Prad am Stilfserjoch and surprises the visitors with great frescos and the dimension.


How to reach

The walking tour takes 3 ours and a half and begins in Glurns. You pass the St. Pankraz dome ant the St. Martin church. Other stages are: “Glurnser Waal”, “Porzleithof” and “Höfesträßchen”. After 3 ours you reach Lichtenberg Ruin.
