Kastelbell Castle – the castle on the rocks

You can find the Kastelbell Castle in a very picturesque place near the river Etsch and many meadows in Vinschgau Valley. Watching it from below the castle seems to touch the sky.

In the course of the centuries the castle was often renovated and extended. Today it is 70 m long and only 30 m wide. You have to visit the chapel built in 14th century and the castle-kitchen, who maintained its original appearance.

How to reach

The excursion begins in Kastelbell and brings you to the northern side of the castle. Here you have a wonderful view on the castle. Continue the walking tour on the “Latschander Waal” way, pass by the “Hochsalgaun” ruin and finally you arrive at the Kastelbell Castle.
