The perfekt climbing boots

30 % of mountain accidents happen through bad footwear. Also in South Tyrol; therefore everybody who goes in the mountains should have a good footgear to stabilize the ankles. A good shoe should have hard and thick soles and must be waterproofed. You slip less than with sneakers.

According the type of the difficulty of the mountain you should choose the boot. Maybe for glaciers you need climbing iron shoes.

In the shop...

The best time for shopping is the afternoon, because your foot is bigger than in the morning. You should try both of the shoes and pace up and down. But there is no 100 % guarantee that the shoe you tried in the shop is perfect in the outdoor. You should read the general information from the maker and the test reports. The golden rule for every shoe acquisition: Begin with short treks and elongate the distance.
