Climbing Parks in Meran

  • 1. Burgstollknott - Parcines **

The climbing park is ideal for beginners, but not suitable for children, because there are steps at the departure.

Route: We proceed from Meran to Vinschgau until Tel, we continue towards Parcines. Leave the car in a downtown parking.
Access: climb for a few hundred metres, from the parking of the lift, climb up to the forest to reach the climbing park.
Difficulty: 8 up to 5a ; 10 from 5a to 6a ; 12 from 6a to 6c; 3 from 6c to 7b.
  • 2. Boulder Area Algund ***

Boulder started here in 1999. The climbing is very varied, in the midst of a forest mixed on gneis blocks, mostly with notches.

Route: From Meran to Algund and then follow the signs
Access: parking at Velloi chairlift and follow the signs
Difficulty: Most of the boulder in Algund is graduated approximately as follows:

F - easy fb 4 / 5 +
M - medium FB 6a/6b
D difficult 6c/7a
MD - very difficult fb 7b/7c
ED - extremely difficult fb 8a/8b
S.d. -- From sitting
  • 3. Zoll **

A small but lovely climbing wall, it is very quiet and often you can climb without being disturbed. Climbing on gneis, mostly slots and notches.

Route: from Meran go to St. Leonhard in Passeier and then to Moos. Park just before the hotel, on the left on the road.
Access: From the parking go back to St. Leonhard for approx. 100 m, overridden the wall to the left, to reach the climbing park.
Difficulty: 2 up to 5a; 4 from 5a to 6 a; 4 from 6a to 6c; 3 from 6c to 7b; 2 from 7b to 8a.
  • 4. Moso **

Moso is above the roofs of the country. The start of the climbing park can be reached directly by car. The rock on which climbs is very varied on gneis, and notches.

Route: from Meran to the Passeiertal until Moos.
Access: go near the church of Moos, continue on the old road up to farmsteads clearly visible.
Difficulty: 2 from 5a to 6a; 9 from 6a to 6c; 3 from 6c to 7b
  • 5. Bergkristall - Plan ***

Climbing very nice, located near a stream, suitable for the whole family. They are also very popular barbecue area along the stream. Climbing plates in gneis and technically challenging.

Route: from Meran you travel along the Passeiertal until Moos and continue to Plan. You can park on the left just after the hotel Bergkristall.
Access: From the parking, follow the road for 100m, then earned the right stream.
Difficulty: 8 up to 5a; 12 from 5a to 6a; 16 from 6a to 6c; 7 from 6c to 7b; 3 from 7b to 8a
  • 6. Fragsburg Castel / Sector Platten *

This is one of the oldest gyms in Meran. Recently it is not often visited and it is partly covered by vegetation. Rocky composed of porphyry.

Route: ranging from Meran to Schenna, at Castel Rametz turns towards Fragsburg Castel. Continue up to 5 km and pass the Castle. You can park a few hundred metres after.
Access: follow the path that leads from the parking area to the forest, for approx. 5 minutes. Continue to the same road to a small street, which begins at the right hand of a band, leading to climbing.
Difficulty: 2 up to 5a; 14 from 5a to 6a; 11 from 6a to 6c; 1 from 6c to 7b
  • 7. New Fragsburg ***

This climbing park is the one on porphyry in South Tyrol. Recently have been added new routes and the base wall has been flattened with steps. If the weather is fine you can climb also in winter.

Route: from Meran to Schenna, at Rametz turns towards Fragsburg Castel. Continue on the road until you reach the castle where you can park.
Access: climb along a footpath to the left of the parking, until you get above the climbing park Fragsburg. It rises to the right until you get to a band, departures will reach using iron scales.
Difficulty: 2 up to 5a; 2 from 5a to 6a; 2 from 6a to 6c; 13 from 6c to 7b; 7 from 7b to 8a.
  • 8. Tisener Auen - Gargazon *

This climbing park is one of the first generation in South Tyrol. In recent times, being a little neglected. This is a very interesting area because of its proximity to Meran and Bozen. The rock is composed of porphyry, especially plates.

Route: ranging from Meran to Bozen, exit at Gargazon, cross the street of wine on right and continue until you reach the climbing park, just before the dump.
Access: 2 minutes to reach the masses located above the road
Difficulty: 1 up to 5a; 4 from 5a to 6a; 4 from 6a to 6c; 1 from 6c to 7b;2 from 7b to 8a;
