Climbing Parks in Gröden

  • 1. La Cava - Gröden **

La Cava is located near the road, but still fairly quiet, the paths are almost all artificial rock in porphyry but the holes are almost all made with the drill.

Route: go to Grödental from Klausen and Bozen, the cliff is on the left, just before Ortisei.
Access: you reach the cliff bypassing the embankment
Difficulty: 5 from 5a to 6a; 12 from 6a to 6c; 8 from 6c to 7b; 7 from 7b to 8a; 1 over 8a.
  • 2. Busc dl Preve - Gröden ***

This climbing park was arranged by alpine guides of Gröden, for beginners in 1995. The rock is gray dolomite with net taken.

Route: From Klausen or Bozen, entered in Gröden to Wolkenstein, continuing up to the parking lot of Langentales.
Access: follow the path to Wolkenstein for about 150m. On the left across the lawn you get on the wall.
Difficulty: 9 up to 5a; 3 from 5a to 6a.
  • 3. Bernardi - Gröden **

The climbing park is hidden in the middle of the forest, the stone is not very high but offers truly beautiful streets in a quiet area.

Route: go to Gröden by Klausen and Bozen, continue to Sellajoch at Wolkenstein. You can park at the first bend.
Access: From the parking across the stream and climb on the ski run. After 100m take the right path and continue until the departure.
Difficulty: 5 from 6a to 6c; 7 from 6c to 7b.
  • 4. Frea – Grödner Joch ****

The rock of this climbing park,  is really perfect for climbing and the landscape that can be contemplated is unique! The rock is dolomite and climbs on holes net.

Route: you enter in Gröden by Klausen, parking at 1 km before Pass, along the way.
Access: follow the path clearly visible in the direction of the wall
Difficulty: 4 up to 5a; 22 from 5a to 6a; 29 from 6a to 6c; 18 from 6c to 7b; 5 from 7b to 8a;
  • 5. Cansla – Traumpfeiler - Gröden ****

This mountain is one of the most well-known of South Tyrol, the area is a veritable paradise for climbers, dolomite perfectly compact, climbing is mostly on plates.

Route: you enter in GRöden by Klausen, passed Wolkenstein, continuing towards Sellajoch, until parking directly beneath the wall.
Access: Climb aboard for the path on the left, the departures can be reached using iron ropes.
Difficulty: 9 from 5a to 6a; 29 from 6a to 6c; 23 from 6c to 7b; 6 from 7b to 8a; 1 over 8a.
  • 6. Steinerne Stadt - Sellajoch ****

At the foot of Langkofels, is an accumulation of boulders, big and small, residues of an avalanche. The smaller rocks represent one of the most popular areas for the Boulder in Italy, while in larger stones are equipped streets continuously. The rock is dolomite, with round holes and net climbing must be very athletic.

Route: you enter in Gröden from Bozen, continue to Sellajoch, parking at the refuge.
Access: Steinerne Stadt is just around the refuge, following the trail for reach the various ways.
Difficulty: 14 up to 5a; 34 from 5a to 6a; 45 from 6a to 6c; 9 from 6c to 7b; 5 from 7b to 8a
Boulder: 14 up to 5a; 28 from 5a to 6a; 36 from 6a to 6c; 26 from 6c to 7b; 6 from 7b to 8a.
  • 7. Pian Schiavaneis ***

This climbing in the Dolomites is one of the most popular, from beginners and experts. Nearby it is also a cliff for children.

Route: you enter in Gröden from Bozen, crossing the Sellajoch and continue to Canazei. You park at the refuge Schiavaneis Pian.
Access: move the barrier and continue in the direction waterfalls - Val Lasties. Cross the river to reach the cliff.
Difficulty: 10 up to 5a; 6 from 5a to 6a; 9 from 6a to 6c; 15 from 6c to 7b; 21 from 7b to 8a; 6 over 8a;
